IMPARTIALITY

I wish people were more impartial. Most people come with their opinions set in stone and are surprised when people disagree with what they say, and oddly are often really surprised when people get uppity and offended especially on hot issues. If you're not open to other viewpoints, it's pointless and nothing will change. You can't argue with someone who sees a 0% probability that the information they have might be wrong, even if they only get their information from one source. Anyone who thinks they have 100% of the facts is 100% off their rocker. Many people like to accuse others and the media of using sensationalist propaganda, but then sensationalize the propaganda and try to throw it back into their face. There is no simple answer...ever...and the person that tells you an issue boils down to one indisputable point has too narrow of a scope to be capable of making decisions that affect others' lives. Many events and key issues are far more reaching and have a much greater impact in more imaginable ways than anyone ever wants to talk or think about, but everyone is always consumed with the selfish immediacy of events that impact the tiny world they live in and are never willing to budge to give someone else a break or think about things on a bigger scale where their face disappears and history blots us all out.

Mankind must survive and we all have to start working together.

"He who has seen present things has seen all, both everything which has taken place from all eternity and everything which will be for time without end; for all things are of one kin and of one form." ~Marcus Aurelius

"That men do not learn very much from the lessons of history is the most important of all the lessons that history has to teach." ~Aldous Huxley

"An optimist believes this is the best of all possible worlds. A pessimist fears that is true." ~Anon
